"a beautiful wave in the middle of the sea imagined islands scattered everywhere a peninsula, are we? we can make the bridges grow, can´t we?"
A visionary performance which tells the story of an ancient sea and how the underwater mountains became the modern human islands of today. A story about the continuous search for home and longing for connection.
A thrillingly beautiful and smart performance, elegantly critizing the modern ways of living: questioning our underwater existance and addressing new-age loneliness. A multi-dimensional concert with edgy, personal and brave poetry, combining modern story-telling through sounds, light, live electronics, theatre and contemporary compositions.
Thea Soti (HU/SRB), vocalist and composer, has been known for working with Modern Music, Creative Jazz, Performance Art and Improvisation, creating unusual sound experiments with special focus on the human voice. She is more than fascinated by the deconstruction of conventional song structures through abstraction of sound and text. Her provocative way of working with words, melodies and noise opens up a new horizon for musical adventures. The concept of combining music with theatrical and visual elements, such as light installation and costumes, resembles the works of new-age artists as Björk or Jenny Hval.
